Wholly, this is the so called cognitive dissonance. You can have show them how much evidence/proof you wish, they just don't accept it. It will break their hopes of eternal life, so they can't handle such evidence. As she herself put it:"Lord whom shall we go away to? You have sayings of everlasting life"
Obvious facts doesn't promise eternel life, but the society does....therefore they prefere to belive the society, even if it is blatant lies.

A mistake at headquarter? Then, why the heck did the society send representatives to UN-conferences (as NGO) for years and years? Didn't they see the UN-logo on the invitations? This is not trustworthy at all. They joined the DPI for the benefit of of beeing a recognized NGO by the UN.

I wonder how many that really believes this is the real reason. Should the borg become NGO in the UN only to get access to a library? This is not credible. Then why did they bother sending brothers to represent the borg at all those conferences?
The real reason must have been someting else. remember; they applied in autumn 1991, shortly after the collapse ov the Soviet Union. Is this just a coincidence? Or did the organisation apply for NGO-status to have the UN making thier esblablishing of new branch offices in a lot of new countries more easy and more effective?
